Mr. Justice Edward P. MacCallum

The Honourable Mr. Justice Edward P. MacCallum was appointed a Judge of the Edmonton Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta in 1983. He now sits as a supernumary Judge of that Court. Prior to his appointment to the Bench, Mr. Justice MacCallum had a general Practice of Law in the town of Barrhead, Alberta from 1965 to 1983. He served as the Chairman of the Alberta Fatality Review Board from 1978 to 1983. Mr. Justice MacCallum graduated from the Second Language Training for Federally Appointed Judges in French in 1991.

Mr. Donald J. Barry is a professor of political science at the University of Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis Xavier University, a Masters of Arts degree by Dalhousie University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree by Johns Hopkins University. His publications include: Documents on Canadian External Relations, Vols. 18 and 19 (1990, 1991); Toward A North American Community? Canada the United States and Mexico (1995); Canada’s Department of External Affairs: Coming of Age, 1946-1968, with John Hilliker (1995); and Regionalism, Multiculturalism and the Politics of Global Trade, with Ronald C. Keith (1999).


Ms. Ritu Khullar

Ms. Ritu Khullar joined Chivers Kance Carpenter in 1998 and became a partner in 2001. Her areas of practice include public law (constitutional law, human rights and administrative law) and related civil litigation. In addition, she teaches at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, and is the Independent Chairperson for hearings into serious disciplinary offences at the Edmonton Institution for Women. A graduate of the University of Toronto Law School, Ms. Khullar has published several articles in the area of constitutional law. Prior to her career in law, she was an intergovernmental officer with the Alberta Department of Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs. She is the current Chair of the National Constitutional and Human Rights Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association.
