Leadership Contestant's Campaign Return

Every leadership contestant's campaign has to submit the Leadership Contestant's Campaign Return. This return contains information on the leadership contestant's campaign expenses, contributions, loans and transfers.

Leadership Contestant's Interim Campaign Return(s)

Interim campaign returns are required if the leadership campaign has accepted contributions totalling more than $10,000 or incurred leadership campaign expenses totalling more than $10,000. The interim returns contain information about the contributions, loans and transfers.

Leadership Contestant's Statement of Unpaid Claims and Loans 18 or 36 Months After the End of the Leadership Contest

This statement is required if the campaign has unpaid claims or loans. It discloses information on the status of these unpaid claims or loans and an explanation of why they are still unpaid.

Correcting or updating a return

An amended Leadership Contestant's Campaign Return or Leadership Contestant's Statement of Unpaid Claims and Loans 18 or 36 Months After the End of the Leadership Contest has to be filed to correct errors or omissions, or to report new transactions.

Leadership Contestant's Statement of Surplus

After all financial obligations have been met, the leadership campaign must dispose of any surplus funds. This statement contains information on the amount and date of the surplus disposal, and to whom the surplus was transferred.
