Canada's election law has changed
Parliament has changed the Canada Elections Act - the law that sets out the rules for electing Members to the House of Commons.
These changes are now in effect. They cover a number of areas, including:
- Third party advertising
- Candidates
- Campaign contributions
- Canvassing
- Election posters
- Opinion surveys
- Blackout period for advertising and new opinion survey results
