CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER OF CANADA ANNOUNCES
DEREGISTRATION OF NATURAL LAW PARTY OF CANADA

OTTAWA, Friday, January 23, 2004 — The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, today announced the deregistration of the Natural Law Party of Canada, following the party's request to deregister voluntarily under section 388 of the
Canada Elections Act.

In accordance with section 389.1 of the Act, the Chief Electoral Officer issued a notice to the party confirming that the party would be deregistered as of January 23, 2004.

A deregistered party may not issue official income tax receipts for any contribution after the date of its deregistration. It will also not be entitled to any of the benefits of a registered party as listed in the Canada Elections Act, including the use of any broadcasting time allocated to it under section 336 of the Act and the opportunity to have the party's name appear on the ballots of future elections.

A notice of the deregistration will be published in the Canada Gazette as required by section 390 of the Canada Elections Act.

The party's remaining financial responsibilities, which are set out in section 392 of the Act, are to be carried out by the party's chief agent, within six months after the deregistration of the party.
