NARRATOR (voice over):

You want to be ready to vote in the next federal election?

To vote, you need to be registered at your current home address.

Most Canadians are already registered in Elections Canada's permanent voter register.

But if you have never voted before, have moved recently, or are not sure if you are registered, you can go online at elections.ca to check if you are registered, update your address or complete your registration.

If you are registered early, you'll get a voter information card in the mail that tells you when and where to vote, and you'll enjoy faster service at the polls.

The online voter registration service is fast and easy to use.

Just type in your name, home address and date of birth.

The online service will tell you if you are registered at your current address, and what to do if you are not.

If you're registering for the first time, be ready to provide your driver's license number, or your provincial or territorial ID card number.

If you cannot register online, or if you prefer to register by mail, call us at 1-800-463-6868. We will mail you a registration form. Complete the form, and mail it back.

After the election is called, you can also register at your local Elections Canada office.

To find your local office, check elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.

Whether online, by mail or at your local office, make sure your registration reaches us by 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13.

If you miss the deadline, you can still register at your polling place, just before you vote. But it is easier and faster when you are registered ahead of time.

So, take five minutes to make sure you are registered. Use the online voter registration service today and be ready to vote!

For more information on how to register, visit elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.
