Narrator (voice over):

Hey there…

Yes, you…

A federal election is coming up.

Are you ready to vote?

To vote, you have to be a Canadian citizen and 18 or older on election day.

You also need to be registered to vote at your current address.

Why wait until election day? Go to elections.ca now to check, update, or register for the first time. Register today. It's easy and will save you time when you go to vote.

If you're registered at your current address, you'll get a voter information card in the mail soon after the election is called.

This card tells you when, where and the ways to vote.

If you don't get a voter information card, or if it has the wrong name or address, go to elections.ca to update your information.

If you need help, call Elections Canada at 1-800-463-6868.

Remember: When you go to vote, bring ID. You'll need it to prove your identity and address.

Bring one piece of government-issued ID with your photo, name and address on it – like a driver's licence or a provincial or territorial ID card.

or…

Bring two pieces of ID:

one with your name – like a health card or student card – and one with your name and address, like a bank statement or a bill.

If your statements are issued electronically, you can bring printouts or show them on your mobile device.

If you don't have ID that proves your address, you can take an oath, and show two pieces of ID with your name. Ask someone who knows you, like a neighbour, to attest to your address.

This person must show proof of identity and address, and be registered in the same polling division as you. They can attest for only one person.

Check elections.ca for the most up-to-date information on ID.
