Cell phones inside polling place

Electors can use their cell phones inside the polling place if they do not disturb others.

Elector wants to keep their VIC

Electors can keep their VIC if they want. Inform them that Elections Canada works hard to keep elector information confidential and will dispose of VICs properly by shredding them.

Media representatives and photographers

Media representatives are not usually allowed inside a polling place. If there is an exception for your polling place, you will receive special instructions.

If a media representative arrives without your prior knowledge

  • ask them to wait outside
  • confirm with CPS that they are allowed to be in the polling place
