Canadian Electors Can Register at the Polls

Those Who Have Not Yet Registered Can Still Do So at Their Polling Station

OTTAWA, Sunday, May 1, 2011

  • Most Canadian electors are already on the list of electors for the 41st general election.
  • Any eligible elector not yet on the list can provide authorized identification and register prior to voting at the assigned polling station for his or her address.
  • An elector without identification may register under oath when he or she is vouched for by another elector who is registered in the same polling division and who can prove his or her own identity and address.
  • Electors can find out where to vote at www.elections.ca or by calling 1-800-463-6868.
