Notes:
Number of federal electoral districts: 42

*In each electoral district, the right to provide the returning officer with lists of qualified persons to be appointed as election officers varies by positions to be filled. To appoint revising agents and registration officers, the returning officer solicits names of suitable persons from the registered parties whose candidates ranked first and second in the last general election. The returning officer appoints deputy returning officers from lists provided by registered parties whose candidates ranked first. He/she solicits names from the registered parties whose candidates ranked second to appoint poll clerks.
