Difficulties Appointing Official Agent
The bar graph is titled "Difficulties Appointing Official Agent." It shows the breakdown of answers to Question 7, "Why was this not easy?" Up to three responses were accepted. The 176 respondents who said it was not easy to appoint an official agent gave the following reasons:
- 59 percent found it hard to find someone willing or available
- 41 percent said it is a hard job or involves too much responsibility
- 36 percent found it difficult to find someone qualified
- 8 percent found there was too much paperwork or bureaucracy
- 7 percent found the time frame too short
- 6 percent were unsure of the agent’s role
- 5 percent found there were difficulties as an independent, or as part of a small or new party
- 3 percent said the job is too time consuming
- 2 percent indicated other reasons
