This graph shows how respondents said they would update their registration information. Responses are from three phases of the survey: Phase 1, benchmark survey; Phase 2, registration survey; and Phase 5, post-campaign survey. The base is respondents who believe a person needs to update their voter registration if their information changes.
The responses by update method and phase are as follows:
- Unspecified online: Phase 1, 16%; Phase 2, 20%; Phase 5, 22%; for a notable increase of 6 percentage points over Phase 1
- Checking box to register on tax forms: Phase 1, 8%; Phase 2, 8%; Phase 5, 13%; for a notable increase of 5 percentage points over Phase 1
- Contact Elections Canada in general: Phase 1, 7%; Phase 2, 7%; Phase 5, 11%; for a notable increase of 4 percentage points over Phase 1
- By unspecified telephone: Phase 1, 5%; Phase 2, 8%; Phase 5, 7%
- At a voting station: Phase 1, 5%; Phase 2, 2%; Phase 5, 6%
