Chief Electoral Officers Since 1920
Canada has had seven Chief Electoral Officers since the Dominion Elections Act established the position in 1920 (click on a name for more information):
- Stéphane Perrault, 2016 – 2018 (acting); 2018 – present
- Marc Mayrand, served 2007 – 2016
- Jean-Pierre Kingsley, served 1990 – 2007
- Jean-Marc Hamel, served 1966 – 1990
- Nelson Jules Castonguay, served 1949 – 1966
- Jules Castonguay, served 1927 – 1949
- Oliver Mowat Biggar, served 1920 – 1927
