Descriptive text of "Roles and responsibilities: Information Office" video

The animation begins:

The first scene shows an information officer wearing a mask.

"Information officers do many different things, coordinated and supported by one or more supervisors."

The same information appears on the screen and two other people wearing masks appear on the screen.

"What each information officer does depends on how many of them there are and on what needs to be done at the time. This video shows some of the main things that information officers might be asked to do."

The next scene shows an information officer in front of election materials.

"Information officers help to set up the polling place before it opens to electors."

The following scene shows the information officer greeting an elector and offering to use hand sanitizer and a disposable mask.

"While the poll is open they direct electors from the entrance of the building to the voting room."

We see the officer opening a door.

"They hold doors open for electors if doors don't open automatically. They will assist electors who need help in other ways too."

The officer is now standing in front of a table with personal protective equipment against covid-19.

"Information officers facilitate health and safety measures at the poll."

The following scene shows the information officer greeting an elector using the hand sanitizer.

"They offer masks and sanitizer to everyone entering the polling place."

The scene shows the information officer entering information.

"They may gather information for contact tracing if it's required locally."

The next scene shows the information officer wiping a table and then a chair with a wipe.

"An information officer regularly sanitizes surfaces in the voting room and elsewhere."

The next scene shows the information officer inviting a elector who is holding his voter information card to use the hand sanitizer and to take a mask. Then the officer directs him to his left.

"As electors enter the voting room, an information officer asks if an elector has ID and a voter card, and - based on the answer - directs each elector to the appropriate service desk."

The scene shows several people wearing masks.

"As visitors enter the voting room, the information officer directs them to the supervisor or as instructed by the supervisor."

The following scene shows an information officer inserting various documents into folders placed in front of him.

"Inside the voting room, an information officer regularly collects some of the documents produced at voting desks, organizing them before they are sent back to the office."
