Third Party Financial Returns for the 44th General Election
A third party is required to register immediately if it incurs expenses totalling $500 or more for regulated activities that take place during the election period.
An interim return is required if the third party has conducted regulated activities in the election period with combined expenses totalling $10,000 or more, or if the third party has conducted regulated activities in the election period with combined expenses totalling $500 or more and has received contributions totalling $10,000 or more for regulated activities. The number of reports depends on when the third party reaches the threshold. Once a third party files the first interim report, it must also file the second interim report.
Every registered third party must submit the Third Party's Electoral Campaign Return within four months after election day.
