Chief Electoral Officer helps launch national Student Vote election program

OTTAWA, Monday, April 4, 2011

  • As part of Elections Canada's voter education mandate to promote civic literacy among Canada's youth, the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, and the Chief Election Officer of Student Vote, Taylor Gunn, will launch the student election program in parallel with the 41st general election.
  • High school students will speak about their experience with the program.
  • A news conference will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. on the 6th floor of the historic Burroughes Building at 639 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario, home of the Student Vote National Campaign headquarters (corner of Queen and Bathurst).
  • Please complete any necessary set-up by 9:45 a.m.
