Elections Canada Announces Results of Judicial Recount
in the Electoral District of Winnipeg North
OTTAWA, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 – The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that Kevin Lamoureux, the candidate of the Liberal Party of Canada, has been declared elected in the electoral district of Winnipeg North (Manitoba), following a judicial recount completed on May 16, 2011, by Mr. Justice Kenneth Hanssen of the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench.
At the 41st general election held on May 2, 2011, the difference between the Liberal candidate, Kevin Lamoureux, and the New Democratic Party candidate, Rebecca Blaikie, was 45 votes in favour of Kevin Lamoureux. Following the judicial recount, the difference between the two candidates is 44 votes.
The following are the results of the recount for all candidates in the electoral district of Winnipeg North:

The returning officer for Winnipeg North will complete the writ of election and forward it to the Chief Electoral Officer, who will sign the writ and publish the name of the elected candidate in the Canada Gazette.
