Background and ObjectivesReport on the Survey of Outreach Stakeholders for the 44th General Election

Outreach to help eliminate barriers to voting is an important part of the work Elections Canada (EC) does, particularly leading up to election day. To this end, the Inspire Democracy program partners with community groups (i.e. outreach stakeholders) that are interested in sharing information about the electoral process with their membership. These organizations have either a formal or informal relationship with EC to disseminate information about the electoral process to their membership and provide the agency with important feedback about their electoral experience.

To better understand the experiences and needs of this diverse network, the agency administered an online post-election survey from December 2021 to January 2022: the Survey of Outreach Stakeholders for the 44th General Election. This report outlines the results of that survey, which was designed to collect information required by the program's performance measurement framework. It focused largely on stakeholders' knowledge of and opinions about EC and Inspire Democracy resources that were available leading up to election day during the pre-writ and writ periods. It is one of several data sources that will be used to evaluate Inspire Democracy's activities during the 2021 federal general election.
