I have the honour to submit my report, which covers the administration of the by-election held on June 17, 1996, in the electoral district of Hamilton East, Ontario. This report is submitted in accordance with subsection 195(1) of the Canada Elections Act, R.S.C., c. E-2, within sixty days after the return of the writ of by-election.

Preliminary information has been included on the voting results of the by-election, together with an account of the events. The official poll-by-poll voting results will be published at the end of this year, in accordance with paragraph 193(b) of the Act.
