Samples of marked ballot papers

On the right an example of rejected ballot marks, including a 1 and a 2 in 2 different circles, an X mark over the name of the candidate but not within the circle, a line through the name of the candidate, a number within the circle, any marks that cover two or more circles, and marking revealing the electors name, such as Ben being written beside an otherwise acceptable mark.

On the left an example of accepted ballot marks, including an X within the circle, a filled in circle, a line or mark cleanly within the circle, a colored non-official pen mark within the circle, or a circle or shape within the circle. Note that all these marks are within a single circle and are cleanly written.
