Reasons for Dissatisfaction with Elector Registration
The bar graph is titled "Reasons for Dissatisfaction with Elector Registration." It shows the breakdown of answers to Question 9, "Why were you not satisfied with this?" Up to three responses were accepted. The 133 respondents who were not satisfied with elector registration gave the following reasons:
- 26 percent said the registration process was too complicated
- 26 percent said the identification requirements turned away genuine voters
- 26 percent said there were too many errors on the list or too many voters who had to register
- 18 percent said the rules were not consistently enforced
- 13 percent said there was an inadequate time frame for electors
- 10 percent said electors were unaware of the registration process or options
- 7 percent said there were too few registration officers at the polls
- 7 percent said revision was ineffective or they wanted a return to door-to-door enumeration
- 6 percent said voters were confused about identification requirements
- 3 percent said there were too few registration opportunities
- 2 percent said there were not enough revising agents
- 7 percent indicated other reasons
