Problems Encountered Providing List of Election Staff Appointees

It shows the breakdown of answers to Question 15, "What problems or challenges, if any, did you encounter in providing to the returning officer a list of names to be appointed as revising agents, deputy returning officers and poll clerks?" Up to three responses were accepted. The answers of the 158 candidates who came first or second in the 40th federal general election are as follows:

• 10 percent said they were unable to find people who were interested or available
• 8 percent said they did not have enough time to find people
• 7 percent said some people on the list were not eligible
• 3 percent said they were unable to find competent people
• 2 percent said the list was provided too late or was not allowed
• 1 percent said the process was not clear
• 2 percent indicated other problems
• 3 percent said they did not prepare such a list
• 4 percent did not know
• 2 percent did not answer
