For 2004, the first bar graph shows respondents' level of agreement, on a scale of 1 to 5, with this statement posed in the Elections Canada survey: "There is too much potential for fraud and mistakes to ever have Internet voting for federal elections." The breakdown is as follows:

• rating 1, strongly disagree, 16 percent
• rating 2, 13 percent
• rating 3, neither agree nor disagree, 19 percent
• rating 4, 16 percent
• rating 5, strongly agree, 32 percent
• did not know or did not respond, 4 percent

For 2008, the second bar graph shows the breakdown of answers to this question posed in the Canadian Election Study: "Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree with the following statement: 'Voting online is just too risky.'" The breakdown is as follows:

• strongly disagree, 14 percent
• somewhat disagree, 20 percent
• somewhat agree, 19 percent
• strongly agree, 40 percent
• did not know or did not respond, 7 percent

For 2011, the third bar graph shows the breakdown of answers to this question posed in the Canadian Election Study: "Which statement comes closest to your own view...?" The breakdown is as follows:
