You will find here the official results of the 41st general election, held on May 2, 2011. The results are presented in different formats to meet the requirements of various users.
A map of Canada (in PDF format) displays colour-coded results, providing an overall view of the political landscape following the 41st general election.
13 Summary Tables
All summary data related to the 41st general election are contained in these 13 tables. To display the tables, simply click the “+” sign to the left of the “Tables” title and make a selection from the drop-down menu.
Poll-by-Poll Results
The results of the 41st general election can be displayed by candidate or by electoral district, as required. To display the results, simply click the “+” sign to the left of the option you want: poll-by-poll results by candidates or poll-by-poll by electoral districts. Then, on the drop-down menu, click either the desired candidate or the electoral district (after first selecting a province or territory).
Raw Data
To meet the special requirements of researchers, raw data from the 41st general election have also been included in two distinct comma separated value (CSV) formats named “pollbypoll_bureauparbureau ” and “pollresults_resultatsbureau”, allowing users to access the data with the most popular spreadsheet software and to manipulate the data according to their needs.
The “pollbypoll_bureauparbureau” format presents the same data as in the official poll-by-poll report from this application and includes an entry for each polling station by candidate in each electoral district. It also provides information on overall vote counts for the poll.
The “pollresults_resultatsbureau” format provides an entry for each candidate by polling station in each electoral district. It includes information on who the candidate is, the candidate’s political party, and the voting results for that candidate at a particular poll.
