1. What do I need to know to understand the election results for an electoral district?
Last updated:
Indicates the time the preliminary results were last updated; on election night, results are published as they are received from the polling stations where people vote.
Party:
Name of the political party each candidate represents; the leading party appears in bold.
Candidate:
The official party candidate for the electoral district listed in alphabetical order.
Votes:
Number of votes received by each candidate.
Votes (%):
Percentage of votes received by each candidate.
Voter turnout:
Voter turnout is calculated by dividing the number of valid votes by the number of electors registered to vote. Please note that the number of registered electors shown in this table does not include electors who registered on election day.
Total number of valid votes:
The total number of votes counted at the time of the last update, excluding rejected ballots
Polls reporting:
The number of polling stations that had finished sending in their results at the time of the last update.
Electoral district profile:
Statistical information on the electoral district that is selected, including the electoral district number, province/territory, population and number of electors on the list of electors.
2. How do I get the latest election results?
A message at the top of the page will tell you when the information will be updated. If this message does not appear at the top of your screen, the Web site administrator may have temporarily blocked this option or the refresh setting may have been set to "No automatic refresh."
