Presenter: Pierre Desjardins, Senior Director, Electoral Distribution
Mr. Desjardins briefed ACPP on the process of redistribution of federal electoral districts, which happens every decennial year after the Census and is led by independent provincial commissions. He explained that the process was launched in November 2021, and that the results could be implemented as early as April 2024. He informed members that Canadians and political parties could participate in the process through public hearings, which are scheduled to start as early as April 2022 and end by December 2022 at the latest.
