Self-training workbook: Information Officer

Information Officer Tasks

Information officers do different things throughout the day. All the details are in the guidebook. Information officers are an important part of the team, helping to ensure that the polling place runs smoothly. In many cases, the information officer has the biggest impact on the electors' experience at a polling place.

In the rest of this workbook you'll learn about the main things that information officers do to keep the polling place running smoothly.

Setting up the polling place

Information officers help to set up the polling place before it opens to electors.

After voting hours, information officers help to organize some of the materials from voting desks, getting the polling place ready for the following day of voting. On the last day of voting they help to take down the polling place.

The supervisor has all the instructions and they will tell you what you can do to help.
