How it works

  1. To register, you must be:
    • A Canadian Citizen
    • Between 14 and 17 years old
    • Living in Canada
  2. If you qualify:

    Register online: it's easy and secure.

  3. At 18 (happy birthday!),

    you'll be registered to vote in the next federal election.

Accepted ID to register

You must be a Canadian citizen between 14 and 17 to register as a future elector.

Here are the options for acceptable ID:

OPTION 1

Example of 1 ID

Upload 1 piece of ID with your photo, name, and current address.

Examples:

  • Driver's licence
  • Any card issued by the government (federal, provincial, or local)

OPTION 2

Example of two IDs

Upload 2 pieces of ID. Both must show your name, and at least one must show your address.

Examples:

  • Health card + bank statement
  • Student ID card + subscription bill
