Electoral district results
1. How do I get the latest election results?
The application is set to refresh election results every 90 seconds. If new results have been compiled by election officers, the data will be updated. You can change the frequency of refreshes as follows:
- Update automatically every 5 minutes
- No automatic update
On election night you can click on the link "Refresh now" at the top of every page regardless of the option you chose.
2. What do I need to know to understand the election results for an electoral district?
Party
Name of the political party each candidate represents; the leading party appears in bold.
Candidate
The official party candidate for the electoral district, listed in alphabetical order.
Votes
Number of votes received by each candidate (with percentage).
Total number of valid votes
The total number of votes counted at the time of the last update, excluding rejected ballots
Polls reporting
The number of polling stations that have finished sending in their results at the time of the last update.
Voter turnout
Voter turnout is calculated by dividing the number of valid votes by the number of electors registered to vote. Please note that the number of registered electors shown in this table does not include electors who registered on election day.
Population
Population based on 2011 census data.
Number of electors on list
Number of electors on the official lists.
